Here are a few photos from Waikiki. This is where the hotels and tourists are, which means a lot of traffic getting in and out of the city. It was really pretty there but I prefer the north shore, less people and bigger waves.
If you click on the above photo it will direct you to my Flickr page, where you can click on it again to see the photo larger, which I recommend. You don't have to have a Flickr account to view my photos on the site. I post more on there than I do here, so if you want to see more go ahead and click any photos in my blog posts.

Waimea Bay Oahu
When I was in Oahu earlier this year, I spent a lot of time at Waimea Bay. Because I was there in the winter I was able to see waves as big as 10-15 ft. (they had 20 ft. waves this past week). I didn't know until after I had left but the beach was one of the filming locations for Lost which is one of my favorite shows. Needless to say, this was a pretty awesome beach and it was very beautiful. Here are a few of my favorite photos that I took there.
These signs were posted because the waves were too dangerous that day. For the most part, people ignored them.
Steve going out to brave the waves.
I wouldn't mind owning a house over there...
This is a smaller version of the panorama I took overlooking the beach right before the sunset. I'll have a whole post of the sunset pictures later.
You can view more photos of Waimea Bay and the north shore on my Flickr acocunt by clicking here.
More photos from my trip to come later.

First Post
I have been wanting to start a blog for a while now, and what better time than the new year, and specifically my birthday! For my first official post, I would like to introduce myself, and post some of my favorite photographs I have taken to catch everyone up. Currently I am a junior at the University of North Texas majoring in Photojournalism. I enjoy learning, traveling, and of course, photography. I originally wanted to get into fashion photography but have discovered over the past year that the fashion industry probably isn't for me, and that I really love nature photography. There's nothing like being by yourself taking a landscape photo or macro shot, and getting to enjoy yourself, nature, and photography all at the same time. That's definitely not fashion photography :) Here are a few (well, a little more that a few) of my favorite photographs I have taken over the past year and a half.

My boyfriend, Chris, is a helicopter pilot so I have a lot of these, and more are sure to come.

Now that you've seen a little bit of my work from the past, here is a preview of some of the photos from my recent trip to Hawaii. I will be posting more later.
